In Fall of 2021, a friend invited me to check out what is going on in Urbana School District 116. I looked in, and fell into the rabbit hole: turned out the problems in the district go well beyond the obvious ones, and, worse, are left there to fester, while a lot of them can be quite immediately addressed.
Our attempts to cooperate with the administration quickly unraveled: for whatever reasons they looked at us with suspicion and animosity right away. Our only instrument to do anything was radical openness, – thus I started this series of posts. As time went, some clusters of stories emerged; when they reach a critical mass, I put them into a category listed below. Use them, or just read all school-related posts here.
