When the district steamrolled over parents and faculty objections and consolidated the dual language program in Yankee Ridge school (into which the children of immigrants more or less forced, under the threat to receiving zero ESL support in other schools), the key argument was the children’s comfort among peers, and convenience for the dual language program staff.
Now, with multiplying reports about ICE intercepting children of immigrants (or looking like ones) on their way to or from school, ICE joined the list of entities to whom the district administration made life easier.
Well done, folks. With true foresight.
