Champaign’s County clerk’s website lists the candidates for the Urbana School District’s Board of Education as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Benjamin Baxley – Subdistrict 7
\u2022 Paul Poulosky – Subdistrict 5
\u2022 Ravishankar Hasanadka – Subdistrict 2
\u2022 Citlaly Yuritzi Stanton – Subdistrict 1
\u2022 Sheri Langendorf – Subdistrict 3
\u2022 Torionna L. Exum – Subdistrict 6<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We see three old names (Ms. Exum, essentially the administration’s hand on the Board, weathervane Mr. Poulosky and independent Dr. Hasanadka) and three new names. I will try to contact these new members (they all run unopposed) to understand their views on the situation in the District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But who will run in the subdistrict 4? (Now it is represented by the performative leftist, but de facto administration’s ally Ms. Hall.) No candidate is listed. The filing deadline is over, and it seems the state statutes do not allow for any late entrants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Board policy stipulates that the vacancies are filled by appointees of the Board.1<\/a><\/sup>we remark that the list of the situations how these vacancies can emerge does not include “nobody wants the seat”.<\/span> If so, we expect a lot of pressure form the administration to get a reliable person on the Board (with Ms. Carter, another staunch ally of the administration on the Board retiring).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
